OX-BOW RULES / GUIDELINES
2025
The consideration of fellow members has always been important at the Ox-Bow Club, so we believe the following information will help to make everyone’s stay more enjoyable. Please understand that these rules/guidelines were established by the Board of Directors and enforced by the Club Manger. If a member has an issue with any of these rules, they are to contact a board member.
A. Reservations, by the MEMBER ONLY, should be made in advance of planned attendance by calling the Club Manger, Josh Nethers, at (989) 348- 3241. Reservations should include the number of people in the party, estimated time of arrival and number of meals to be taken at the Club. The member must be in attendance when his guests are using the club.
We suggest reservations be made well in advance to assure no disappointments. Club facilities can, on occasion, be made available to some large groups. Any member planning a party of more than 10 must first clear the date and the number in the party with the Board of Directors to insure members are aware of the party and date.
If at any time member decides to extend your stay beyond your confirmed reservation date, check with the Club Manager as to possible conflict with new arrivals.
Meals are provided by the Manager and the responsible for managing the purchase and service of all meals Breakfast and Dinner are the predominant meals, lunch is available based upon member request. Members are responsible for conveying their meal needs in advance of visit during the reservation process. Should the Member change the meal plan after confirmation the manager has the option to charge $25.00 as a cancellation fee for each attendee.
As we intend to keep the lodging open at all times if member needs to cancel attendance that includes lodging, we require at least 48 hours’ notice.
While Ox-Bow is primarily an adult fishing club, families are welcome. However, all children must be at least 10 years old. Because of the inherent dangers of our close proximity to the river, we recommend that you exercise caution when you or your guest(s) bring young children. Between July 15th and August 31st families with children under 10 years old are allowed enjoy the club amenities.
B. Sleeping accommodations consists of the dormitory of the main lodge and ladies’ cabin and bedrooms over the dining hall. Club facilities can accommodate twenty-eight people.
Under no circumstances will women be permitted to sleep in the dormitory of the main lodge, unless by prior approval of the Board of Directors.
The Ladies’ cabin is for WOMAN ONLY. NO advance reservations may be made for couples. If the cabin is not in use, then upon your arrival, the Club Manager MAY allow others to use the cabin.
C. Throughout the season, it is requested that on your arrival at the Club, you and your guests stop at the dining room and announce yourself and sign the registration book. before proceeding downhill to the main club house.
D. The manager will provide all meals at the club. The menu will be posted daily. All meals are recommended to be consumed in the Dining Hall. While we appreciate that there may be members and guests that have special dietary requirements, it is not possible to accommodate everyone. If a member or guest brings their own food for dining, the manager is not responsible for cooking it but may serve it along with main service and side dishes. Please consult the manager.
It is requested that members and their guests wear the proper attire in the dining room. This means shoes-yes, waders and head cover not at dinner.
E. It is the responsibility of each member to make sure when our fireplaces are in use that the screening is in place, especially when leaving the buildings. As we have had several nearly disastrous fires in the past years, we ask each member to be extremely careful with matches, smoking materials, etc. when out in the woods. Please use caution with all flammable substances.
F. It is expected that all members and their guests will respect the private property of others in the area. The importance of not violating “No Trespassing” signs of our neighbors by vehicle or walking cannot be too highly stressed. These areas are few and are posted on the bulletin board in the main lodge. When in doubt, check with the Board of Directors or Manager.
G. Your Club is located on “restrictive” trout waters where lure, size and creel limit may vary from year to year from the general trout regulations.
Please be sure that you and your guests are aware of and adhere to all current regulations.
NO cleaning of fish or game in the river buildings. Please, NO towels or “glasses” to be used on the river in canoes or boats.
Unfortunately, our ice making facilities are limited and somewhat slow. Please have consideration for the next person coming in when filling “coolers” for boat trips and travel.
H. The gun range hours are 9:00 - 11:00 AM and 2:00 - 4:00 PM. No explosives such as “Tannerite” are to be exploded on the range, member/guests are to clean the range after use.
I. Members and guests are welcome to bring their dogs, if necessary. We require that they are well behaved and kept caged unless supervised by their owner. Dogs should be taken by their owner if leaving the property. There have been instances where dogs have been left on the screen porch and have caused damage to the screens. If this occurs, the owner will be required to pay the club for the repairs. The dog and owner will no longer be welcome.
J. Motorcycles, trail bikes, ATV’s, snowmobiles, etc. are requested to be left at the top of the hill. There will be no parking of campers or motor homes.
K. Gratuities for our Club Manager, while not compulsory, do express appreciation for services rendered. We feel this is the option of each individual or group. All our food and lodging rates are flat rates and do not include any gratuities.
